About
Who's Daniel
I'm Daniel van Veldhoven, a motion design automation specialist. I work with brands and studios that need to produce visual content at scale, turning data into complex, personalised visuals through automated systems.
I've worked in motion design for over 15 years. Early in my career I kept running into the same problem: repetitive work that could be done smarter. I had a strong technical understanding alongside my design skills, and over time that combination pushed me toward automation as my main focus.
I work with brands and studios of different sizes. What they have in common is a problem to solve: content that needs to run faster, repeat across thousands of variations, or connect directly to data. There is no fixed client type. The brief is the starting point.
A typical project starts with data, usually a spreadsheet, an API, or an automated feed. I build templates with many conditions and variations, then set them up to run at scale. The output can be thousands of personalised visuals generated from a single system.
Most motion designers draw their energy from aesthetics and storytelling. I draw mine from the systems around the work. I sit between the creative, technical, and production sides of a project, and my focus is on making processes as efficient as possible. In a period when visual content is increasingly tied to business results, that approach is becoming more relevant.
Before specialising in automation, I worked as a VJ, performing live visuals at events. There too, my technical understanding was what set me apart. That curiosity has stayed with me. I'm comfortable working with new software, AI systems, databases, and developer-adjacent tools. I write code, mostly scripts and plugins, but I'm not building full applications. I understand how the pieces fit together, and that is often what a project needs.

Working as a VJ and Motion Graphics artist. I found my entry into the events world through VeeJays.Com, where I learned VJ-ing from VeeMee-Visuals.

First time freelancing, focused on Motion Graphics and building experience. Toward the end of this period I discovered VJ-ing, which gave me a clearer direction.
My first paid job as a Motion Designer. I worked on motion design, editing, and color correction, and quickly found that motion design was my main focus.
